At Snaffle Travel, we believe one of the best ways to experience a country is to explore its countryside on horseback. Our horse riding holidays combine beautiful scenery, wonderful horses, comfortable accommodation, local food and genuine hospitality, away from busy cities and crowds.
Around 90% of our riding holidays are centre-based, allowing you to unpack, relax and enjoy your holiday without constantly changing accommodation. Many can also be combined with sightseeing, cooking classes, nature walks, wine tasting and local experiences, making them suitable for non-riding partners as well.
We personally visit many of the riding destinations and meet our local partners, so we can recommend experiences we know and trust.
Horse Riding Holidays in Italy, Spain & Portugal
Italy is a favourite, particularly the peaceful countryside where you can enjoy riding, homemade pasta, local wine and wonderful hospitality.
Spain offers fabulous horses, tapas, historic towns, beautiful countryside and traditional equestrian culture. You can also combine your riding holiday with a festival or a visit to the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.
Portugal is another wonderful destination for an equestrian holiday. We recommend combining your riding holiday with two or three nights in Lisbon and perhaps visiting the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, Sintra, Évora, Porto or the Algarve.

We have travelled extensively throughout the USA and stayed at several ranches. With hundreds of ranches to choose from, we can help find one to suit your riding interests, accommodation preferences and budget.
Tailor-Made Riding Holidays
Would you like to combine your horse riding holiday with sightseeing? We can create a tailor-made itinerary and arrange additional accommodation, tours, transfers and travel arrangements before or after your riding holiday.
As a small, family-run travel company, we provide old-fashioned personal service and take the time to understand what you want from your holiday. Our aim is to help you discover wonderful places, enjoy exceptional equestrian experiences and return home with memories to last a lifetime.
If you require us to plan an extensive itinerary, book hotels, flights, sightseeing, trains etc we do charge a planning fee to cover our time. Please contact us to discuss.
