More correctly known as The London International Horse Show, this popular festive show takes place at London Excel every year just before Christmas. It is a pre-Christmas ritual for the vast majority of the British horse world. A brilliant place to get into the festive spirit, while also doing a last-minute spot of Christmas shopping, the London International Horse Show really does have something for all members of the family as well as riders of all levels regardless of your preferred equestrian sport.
The show typically takes place over seven days with world-class dressage, show jumping, and driving, alongside showing and fantastic entertainment, including the fantastic Shetland Pony Grand National, the brilliant dog agility, international entertainers, and the famous Christmas Finale.
For most in the horse world, Christmas hasn’t started until you have attended the London International Horse Show. The show is held in London every year and is one of the highlights of the Equestrian competition year.
The show has traditional favourites, like the Shetland Pony Grand National and the Christmas finale, the show will have top-class action from across the disciplines, including the FEI World Cup Dressage competitions, on the first two days of the week.
Crowd favourite the big red wall is fantastic to watch to see how high the wall will go. With the action turning to the show jumping, and a visit from Father Christmas himself in the finale.
The Driving, starts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Come the weekend, there is also a feast of show jumping to look forward to including the FEI World Cup jumping on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The show also has an extensive shopping village. Hosting over 200 stands, you can find a huge variety of places to stock up on last-minute Christmas gifts although you may have already done most of your Christmas shopping at the Christmas markets in Europe.
