The riding holiday I want is sold out. Can I join a waitlist?
Yes. If a horse riding holiday is fully booked, please contact Snaffle Travel and we can add you to our waitlist. Occasionally, places become available due to cancellations or additional departures being released. We also recommend following Snaffle Travel on social media and subscribing to our newsletter for updates on new riding holidays and availability.

How much does it cost to book a riding holiday through Snaffle Travel?
You’ll always see the full amount payable upfront, so there are no surprises, no surcharges, and no hidden fees once you begin your booking. The total amount payable will include:
Ride Price
A Riding Holiday Planning & Booking Fee of AUD $125 per person applies to all riding holiday bookings.
- This Booking Fee applies to all rides, regardless of ride price or payment method, and is payable with your deposit.
- We do not charge credit card fees, or extra charges, or any unexpected add-ons. We like to be transparent from the start.
- If you need to cancel your ride prior to 90 days from departure date, Snaffle Travel will credit the total paid so far for the ride, plus the booking fee, minus a $500 amendment fee.
- This fee covers the time, expertise and support involved in planning and managing your booking.
The fee includes:
- Personal consultation regarding your riding experience and travel goals.
- Recommendations tailored to your riding ability and interests.
- Advice on destinations, seasons and riding styles.
- Preparation of personalised quotations.
- Liaison with overseas riding holiday operators.
- Booking and confirmation of your riding holiday.
- Assistance with special requests and dietary requirements.
- Advice regarding flights, transfers, visas and travel logistics.
- Pre-departure information and travel documentation.
- Ongoing support throughout the planning process.
- Use of the Trip Plans itinerary with destination information, sightseeing and more
- Booking of additional accommodation, trains and buses related to your riding holiday.
The Planning & Booking Fee is non-refundable once research and quotation work has commenced.
Note: As all our rides are based on foreign currency we use the ANZ sell rate and we will check the final price 7 days prior to final payment and lock in the rate. So the riding holiday price may change reflecting the current foreign exchange. If you preferred to lock in the price early you can, but we would require full payment.
Do I pay more by booking through Snaffle Travel?
In most cases, no. Our riding holiday prices are generally the same as booking directly with the operator. The difference is that you benefit from professional advice, personalised recommendations and support before you travel. You don’t have to pay any credit card fees or international transfer fees.
We can also coordinate flights, accommodation, transfers and travel insurance, giving you a single point of contact for your entire trip.
Can Snaffle Travel book my flights and other travel arrangements?
Yes. Snaffle Travel is a full-service travel agency and a member of ATIA (Australian Travel Industry Association).
We can arrange:
- International and domestic flights
- Pre and post-tour accommodation
- Airport transfers, rail travel, Travel insurance
- Additional sightseeing, other tours and stopovers
- Having all your travel arrangements managed together helps ensure everything connects smoothly with your riding holiday.
What happens if I need to change my booking?
If you need to make changes to your riding holiday booking, please contact Snaffle Travel as soon as possible.
Changes are subject to availability and supplier conditions. Any fees charged by riding centres, accommodation providers, airlines or other suppliers will be payable by the traveller. Requests made close to departure may be treated as a cancellation. Please refer to the Snaffle Travel Terms & Conditions for full details.
What happens if I need to cancel my riding holiday?
If you need to cancel your riding holiday, you must notify Snaffle Travel in writing. Cancellation fees vary depending on the supplier and the timing of your cancellation. A Snaffle Travel administration fee of $500 per booking applies, in addition to any supplier cancellation fees.
Once final payment has been made, cancellation fees may be up to 100% of the holiday cost. For this reason, comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended at the time of booking.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?
Most riding holiday bookings are non-transferable because reservations are made in the traveller’s name and are subject to supplier conditions. If you are unable to travel, please contact Snaffle Travel to discuss available options.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer, credit card, Wise and other payment methods advised at the time of booking. All pricing is provided upfront, with no hidden fees or surprise charges. Any supplier fees, government taxes, visa fees or travel insurance premiums will be clearly outlined before booking.
